Journalist Michael Hastings Dies in Fiery Crash in Hollywood But How?

In the footage above you can see the remains on Michael Hastings car in Hollywood. It important to note that this was a Mercedes Benz, not a car that crashes and just explodes, but one of the safest cars on the market in crash tests. Hastings died in a single-vehicle automobile crash in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles in the early morning of June 18, 2013.
So how did Michael Hastings car explode into a fireball? And why is the main stream media ignoring it.

A freelance journalist named Jim Stone claims that Hastings was killed by a bomb in his gastank. The evidence is compelling that something is not right in this case. 

In June 2010, Rolling Stone published "The Runaway General", Hastings's profile of US Army general Stanley McChrystal, this led to the generals retirement. In 2012 a follow-up book about his time with McChrystal, hasting was said to have gone more in depth. 
Hastings also interviewed Julian Assange and has had many other stories exposing the seedy underbelly of our Government. In other words, he has made a few enemies.
Who knows what he may have been killed for, or if it was just some freak accident, but I do know its not what it appears to be.
